Dr. Shruti Patil is a distinguished academic leader, visionary researcher, and innovator shaping the global landscape of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and Data Science. She currently serves as the Professor and Director of the Symbiosis Artificial Intelligence Institute (SAII) at Symbiosis International University, Pune, where she is pioneering transformative initiatives that blend interdisciplinary AI education, cutting-edge applied research, and ethical technology innovation.
Ranked among the Top 2% scientists globally in Artificial Intelligence research, Dr. Patil has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of AI through her 115+ Scopus-indexed research papers, an H-index of 34, and a strong citation record exceeding 3,900 citations.
She has successfully secured and executed multiple national and international research grants totaling more than ₹6 crores, including prestigious projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST-PURSE), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and UAE University.
Her pioneering work spans Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, AI for Healthcare, Industry 4.0, Education 4.0, and Smart Agriculture. She has been instrumental in advancing AI-based healthcare diagnostics, human–machine emotion understanding, and AI-driven industrial automation. Her research has directly contributed to health technology innovation, social impact solutions, and the development of responsible, explainable AI systems.
With an illustrious career of over 14 years, Dr. Patil has guided several doctoral researchers, mentored numerous postgraduate and undergraduate innovators, and led AI-powered collaborative projects with leading industry and research partners such as Dassault Systèmes, Bajaj Auto, and CDAC. Her leadership has helped bridge the gap between academic research and real-world applications, nurturing a generation of responsible AI professionals.
Dr. Patil’s academic influence extends globally—she serves on program committees, boards of studies, and advisory panels for multiple universities, research bodies, and international conferences across India, Russia, and Southeast Asia. She has been a keynote speaker and panelist at several reputed global forums, including the World Education Summit, EAI MLADA, BRICS Conferences, and Responsible AI Symposiums.
A Gold Medalist and University Topper, Dr. Patil’s excellence has been recognized through numerous national and international accolades, including being named among the Top 5 Women Researchers by Springer Nature (2024), recipient of the Symbiosis ACE Researcher Award (2023), and honored as “Young Leader in AI-Driven Education” at the World Education Summit (2024).
