Programme Structure

Objective:

To develop skilled professionals with a strong foundation in artificial intelligence, computational thinking, and data-driven problem solving. The program aims to foster interdisciplinary application of AI in domains such as healthcare, agriculture, sports, and cybersecurity. It encourages creativity, ethical reasoning, and research aptitude to address real-world challenges through innovative and inclusive AI solutions.

Assessment

The courses will have 60% Continuous Assessment and 40% Term End [University] examination however, some courses (not more than 30% of the total programme credits) may have 100% Continuous Assessment.

Standard of Passing:

The assessment of the student for each examination is done based on relative performance. Maximum Grade Point (GP) is 10 corresponding to O (outstanding). For all courses, a student is required to pass both Continuous Assessment and Term End examinations separately with a minimum Grade Point of 4 corresponding to Grade P. Students securing less than 40% marks in any head of passing will be declared FAIL. The University awards a Certificate/Diploma/ Degree to the student who has achieved a minimum CGPA of 4 out of a maximum of 10 CGPA for the Programme.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian Students

Passed Std. XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST). Open to students from all streams (Science, Commerce, Arts) who have passed. Students who wish to opt for Honours with Research must earn 7.5 CGPA and above at the end of Semester VI. Eligibility Criteria for multiple entries will be as per University's Lateral Entry Rules for FYUG programmes.

International Students: (NRI/PIO/Foreign Nationals)

  • Passed / Appeared 10 + 2 examinations
  • Do not have to appear for entrance exam (SET/JEE) in India

Admission Process & Important dates

A candidate seeking admission for the First Year B.B.A. (Artificial Intelligence) - Honours/ Honours with Research and B.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence) - Honours/ Honours with Research programs at Symbiosis Artificial Intelligence Institute, Pune, have to appear for the SET 2026, which is conducted twice(in May 2026) in CBT mode at multiple test centres across India.

  • The candidate has to register for the SET examination via the SET Registration Portal: Registration through SET by paying INR 2250/-. The registration will close on April 15, 2026.
  • Remember SETID and Pwd for further admission process.
  • Then do the institute registration of 1000/- rs for the SAII B.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence) -Honours/ Honours with Research and/or B.B.A. (Artificial Intelligence) via the SET Registration Portal. The registration will close on 18th May, 2026.

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has various scholarship schemes to reward meritorious students.

Scholarship Policy

With the objective of encouraging meritorious students and academic excellence, Scholarships/ Awards are offered to deserving students of the University by the Symbiosis Society Foundation.

SAII

SAII awards merit scholarship under SIU policy for all our undergraduate programmes. The following are the details of the Scholarship for Academic Excellence at SAII.

The Scheme

Merit Scholarship for Semester / Annual Toppers - (Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes)

Applicability and Commencement: This scholarship is applicable to:

  • All UG / PG degree programmes which follow semester pattern
  • UG / PG degree programmes which follow annual pattern (except SMCW)
  • A student can avail only one SIU scholarship per semester

Awarded to:

  • Four semester toppers in the order of merit of every batch of every degree programme (UG and PG) under SIU.
  • Four toppers which follow annual pattern.

Nature of the scholarship:

First four toppers in the order of merit of every batch of every programme in every semester/ annually will be awarded the Merit Scholarship.

The Scholarship recipients are granted concession in Academic Fees of the semester, applicable to all full time Post Graduate and Under Graduate degree programmes of all the Constituents of SIU, as below:

  • 1st topper gets 20%,
  • 2nd topper gets 15%,
  • 3rd topper gets 10%,
  • 4th topper gets 5%

The scholarship amount will not be paid directly to the students. It will be transferred by the University directly to the Constituent, for the adjustment in academic fee of the following semester.

In case the student is a topper in the last semester of the programme, the scholarship amount will be transferred to the student’s bank account as per available records
